Afghanistan: Australian soldiers injured, insurgents killed

September 20, 2013

Three Australian special forces soldiers serving in Afghanistan have been wounded during an insurgent attack.

The Defence Force says the soldiers were on patrol with the Afghan National Security Force in the Char Chineh region of the Uruzgan province last week when they came under heavy fire.

It also confirmed that a number of insurgents were killed in the incident, including a mid-level commander responsible for supplying weapons and ammunition.
