Iran: So-o-o-o-o-o-o scared!

August 13, 2013

The Iranian government is so fucking terrified by rude comments made by an expatriate in Norway that they tortured his family in Iran to make him shut up.

…Ghadari, an Iranian dissident and a convert to Christianity in Norway,  was featured in an article in a local newspaper, Aftenpost, criticizing the Iranian regime. He did not realize was just how his actions would affect himself and his family.

Within days, he received death  threats in Norway, allegedly from the Iranian embassy and subsequently went into hiding.

What he did not know was that the threats were not limited only to him: Members of the Iranian Revolutionary Guard Corps (IRGC) and paramilitary forces in Iran stormed his parents’ home  in Tehran with a copy of the article and proceeded to harass and torture his mother, father and sister – they were threatened, punched, kicked and used heated iron rods to torture them…

His family went into hiding for four years (!) and his mother and father managed to flee to Norway last year – the whereabouts of his father are still unknown. Ghadari and his family have voiced their story on a recent TV interview for NRK in an effort to stop such abuses in the future.

Shadow Diplomacy

Way to go, theocracy!
