The I-75 corridor through Toledo, Ohio, has become a battleground for the homosexuality debate. Two churches with opposing views on the issue are in a clash of dueling billboards to get out their messages.
Central United Methodist Church posted a roadside billboard in April that said: “Being Gay Is a Gift from God.” That message prompted Rev. Tony Scott of The Church on Strayer to offer a different perspective. The mega-church recently purchased nine billboards that proclaim: “Being Gay is NOT a Gift from God — Forgiveness, Love, and Eternal Life Are.”
“I took it all I could take it, and I couldn’t take it anymore and I stood up. So now I deal with it,” he tells OneNewsNow. “… It’s been mean and vicious — and of course I knew it would be — and I wasn’t looking for a crusade and didn’t need one. But sometimes you just have to step up.”
When you know what God wants, all things are clear — even when they contradict each other.
